Multiple-Car Collision on San Francisco’s 101 Freeway Leaves 4 Injured

San Francisco, California – A shocking collision involving three vehicles occurred on the 101 Freeway in San Francisco on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 19, 2023, leaving four people injured and causing a congestion that stretched several blocks.

According to a report from local authorities, the incident took place at 5:58 p.m. at the intersection of Lombard and Broderick Street in the westbound direction, as reported by the San Francisco Fire Department.

As a result of the multiple-car collision on the 101 Freeway, two individuals were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries, while two other injured individuals chose not to be transported, as confirmed by the fire department.

The magnitude of the incident was reflected in the significant slowing of westbound lanes on Lombard, affecting the stretch between Steiner and Broderick Streets, according to Caltrans data.
