Sutter County, California – The collision between a 2021 Honda Accord and a 2012 Mazda 3 shook the tranquility of South George Washington Boulevard on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a fatal accident in Sutter County that occurred around 4 p.m. near George Washington Boulevard, just south of Lincoln Road.
The driver of the Honda, a 38-year-old woman, was traveling north on the aforementioned roadway, while the other driver, a 35-year-old woman, was traveling in the opposite direction. The passenger in the Mazda 3, a 54-year-old woman from Roseville, tragically lost her life at the scene of the accident, as reported by the CHP.
Following the fatal collision, the driver of the Mazda 3 was arrested by authorities. She faces charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, as well as felony DUI causing injury. The woman was transported and booked into a Sutter County jail, where she will face the appropriate legal proceedings.
