[Springfield, OH] A tragic incident occurred in a serene neighborhood in Springfield Township when a mother and daughter lost their lives in a fatal car accident while walking their dog on Wednesday evening. The victims were identified as Rosalind Givens, 53, and her 21-year-old daughter Jazmine Givens, who had left their home on McKelvey Road for a stroll just before dinner.
The accident took place when the two women had walked about nine houses down the road and were struck by a car. Fortunately, a volunteer firefighter from Greenhills, who happened to be off-duty, witnessed the incident and immediately called for help while rendering aid to the victims.
Despite being rushed to the hospital along with the driver who hit them, both women succumbed to their injuries and passed away.
Following the Springfield car crash, neighbors in the community expressed their sadness and concerns about road safety in the area. Some residents believe that speeding might have played a role in the accident and are advocating for ways to make the streets safer. Although the crash is still under investigation by the Springfield Township police, neighbors suggest that the implementation of sidewalks may prevent such incidents from happening again.
The victims’ family and friends are still in shock and mourning their loss. Rosalind Givens’ longtime boyfriend shared that the mother and daughter were inseparable and best friends.
