A total of six individuals have been hospitalized with unknown injuries following an accident that occurred on Highway 3, specifically in the Fort Jones area, on Sunday night.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire SKU) promptly responded to the incident. According to reports, the collision involved two vehicles and occurred near the base of Forest Mountain, at approximately 8 p.m.
Following the collision, ambulances and helicopters were dispatched to transport the six injured individuals to nearby hospitals. As of now, no information has been provided regarding the current status of the affected individuals.
As a result of the Highway 3 collision, the intersection of Broadway and W. Jefferson Boulevard had to be temporarily closed while emergency teams worked on clearing the area and attending to the injured.
Cal Fire SKU, in collaboration with the South Yreka Fire Protection District, Fort Jones Fire Department, Scott Valley Fire Department, Mercy Medical Air, California Highway Patrol Air Operations, California Highway Patrol in Yreka, Etna Ambulance, and Mount Shasta Ambulance, jointly responded to the accident, demonstrating effective coordination in addressing emergencies.
