Sacramento, California – A dramatic accident involving seven vehicles shook Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova on Wednesday evening, resulting in one person being urgently transported to the hospital. According to the report from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the collision occurred in the eastbound lane of Highway 50, near Sunrise Avenue.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when, according to the California Highway Patrol, a high-speed driver lost control of their Toyota Tacoma, grazing a Subaru Forester before veering off the road.
The Tacoma subsequently climbed up a dirt embankment near the Sunrise Boulevard exit, violently colliding with a Toyota 4-Runner at the exit, causing both vehicles to overturn after the collision.
The impact was not limited to just the two main vehicles, as a Toyota Corolla, a Subaru Outback, a Toyota Camry, and a Toyota Tundra were also affected by the aftermath of the collision, caused by the Tacoma or the 4-Runner at the Sunrise Boulevard exit.
Despite the severity of the accident, the police reported that only the driver of the 4-Runner suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Furthermore, it was confirmed that alcohol and/or drugs did not play a role in this seven-car accident on Highway 50, according to law enforcement authorities.
