A spokesperson for the San Luis Obispo Police Department confirmed the severity of the injuries, describing them as critical. The injured individual was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
The scene of the accident, located between El Mercado and Highway 101, saw a temporary closure of both eastbound lanes of Madonna Road. This measure was necessary to allow the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCID) to conduct their meticulous investigation. The SCID, specialized in traffic accident reconstruction, was tasked with documenting every detail to determine the root cause of the incident.
