Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Hayward’s I-880 Results in Tragedy

Alameda County, California – Thursday night in Hayward was marked by a tragic multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 880, resulting in a fatal outcome and triggering a search for the responsible driver who fled the scene.

The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. on the northbound stretch of I-880, south of A Street. Four vehicles were involved in this unfortunate collision: a Ford F350, a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Camry, and a Toyota Tacoma.

Unfortunately, a passenger traveling in the Corolla lost his life at the scene. Meanwhile, the Camry driver chose to leave the scene, fleeing on foot, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The other individuals involved in the crash remained at the scene, fully cooperating with authorities in the investigation.

The exact circumstances surrounding the multi-vehicle crash on Hayward’s are still being determined, stated the CHP. The identity of the deceased passenger has been withheld, pending notification to the affected family.
