Los Angeles, California – A car accident in Lake Balboa on the night of Tuesday, February 20, 2024, resulted in the death of one person and another seriously injured.
The tragic incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of 17300 W. Saticoy Street, according to reports provided by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The accident involved a car and a pickup truck, which were involved in a devastating impact. After the collision, the pickup truck lost control, crashing into a tree and a nearby commercial building. The impact damaged a natural gas meter, triggering an additional emergency.

LAFD also faced additional danger as the pickup truck was carrying containers of pesticides that scattered during the crash. To ensure public safety, the Hazardous Materials Squad was deployed to assess the situation and prevent any potential leakage of dangerous chemicals.
