Ben Kweller, a 41-year-old singer-songwriter who has toured with Ed Sheeran, tragically lost his 16-year-old son, Dorian, in a car accident on Monday. The musician confirmed the devastating news through an Instagram post on Tuesday. Kweller described his son as a “true legend” and a “kindest, gentle soul” who was loved by all.
The grieving father shared that Dorian’s first big gig was scheduled to take place in a few weeks at the South by Southwest Conference and Festivals in Austin, Texas. He also recounted his last text exchange with his son, which was about the merchandise they planned to create together.
Ben expressed his disbelief at the tragic turn of events and said that he had “no idea why things like this happen.” He added that his family was in “complete shock” and struggling to process “this disaster.”
