North Hollywood, CA – A violent two-car crash in North Hollywood on Sunday evening resulted in three people being rushed to the hospital, with two in critical condition. The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the 11200 block of Oxnard Street, between Lankershim Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
The exact circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation. Fire officials reported that one of the victims was briefly trapped in their vehicle before being rescued by firefighters. The other two victims were also transported to the hospital, one in serious condition. Footage from the scene shows both vehicles completely totaled, with debris scattered across Oxnard Street.
Longtime North Hollywood resident Anthony Tadman, who lives near the crash site, described hearing the collision from his home and running outside to see the aftermath. “A lot of accidents on this street. It happens all the time,” Tadman said, expressing concern about the frequency of accidents in the area and suggesting that a stop sign might help prevent future incidents.
Tadman also recounted the harrowing sight of a female victim ejected from one of the vehicles. “She was there on the street, all covered in blood,” he recalled. “It was a bad accident.”
At this time, authorities have not released the identities of the victims or confirmed whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
