(Pomona, CA) On Sunday evening, a fatal accident occurred on North Garey Avenue near East Bonita Avenue around 8:45 p.m., resulting in the death of two individuals and leaving one in critical condition.
The Pomona Police Department is currently searching for a driver who fled the scene after a violent collision between their vehicle and an SUV carrying three people, two of whom tragically lost their lives.
According to a report from the Pomona Police Department, authorities arrived at the scene upon receiving the report and found an overturned SUV with three trapped passengers. The driver and front-seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene due to the severe impact.
A rear-seat passenger was transported to the nearest hospital in critical condition.
A resident in the area reported witnessing a man leaving the scene after the crash and decided to follow him to nearby apartments, where he entered and subsequently exited, losing sight of him on Garey Avenue. The witness described the possible responsible driver as wearing khaki shorts.
At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or drugs are significant factors in the accident. Authorities are investigating the incident and urge anyone with relevant information to come forward immediately.
