18-Year-Old Street Racer Killed In High-Speed Fresno Car Crash

[Fresno, CA] – Fresno resident Aeneas McClain, 18, was killed in a street racing crash on Monday afternoon along Blackstone Avenue near San Jose Avenue.

According to police reports, witnesses and surveillance footage from nearby businesses showed that two cars – McClain’s Dodge Charger and another unidentified vehicle – were racing north along Blackstone when McClain’s car collided with a red truck, causing it to spin into an intersection and collide with a black truck. Neither of the trucks was involved in the race, as they had the right-of-way.

McClain was pronounced dead at Community Regional Medical Center after being unresponsive at the scene of the crash. The driver of the black truck was also taken to CRMC with a shoulder injury but the driver of the red truck was not injured.

Second Car’s Driver To Be Identified

Detectives are currently working to identify the second car involved in the race and it is yet unknown if they can be held accountable for any crime related to McClain’s death. This is Fresno’s 10th traffic-related fatality of the year.

Lieutenant Bill Dooley had a strong warning for drivers, in an interview with local media, saying “Street racing itself when you’re either racing as a group or side by side, it presents a danger not only to those that are actually involved in the racing but other people that are around.”

McClain’s family is devastated by the loss of their beloved son and brother. They are urging anyone with information on the case or any other street racing activities to contact the police in order to prevent another tragedy like this from happening again.
