SUV Accident Near Baker on 15 Freeway Claims 3 Lives

Baker, CA – A devastating SUV accident near Baker on Saturday afternoon claimed the lives of three Santa Monica residents, including a 9-year-old girl, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The fatal crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the northbound 15 Freeway, just south of Halloran Summit Road near mile marker 154.

CHP reports that a black Toyota SUV veered toward the center median and crashed into a guardrail. The vehicle continued traveling northeast, eventually striking a concrete embankment within the Kali Ditch. All three passengers inside the SUV died at the scene.

The victims, whose identities have not yet been released, included a 9-year-old girl, a 43-year-old woman, and a 56-year-old man, all from Santa Monica.

It is currently unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. CHP officials are investigating the cause of the collision and have asked anyone with information to contact Officer L. Roberson at 760-255-5900.
