Perry Kurtz Killed in Tragic Hit-and-Run in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California – Perry Kurtz, a seasoned comedian known for his appearances on popular shows like “America’s Got Talent,” tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run in Los Angeles on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Authorities report that the 73-year-old entertainer was struck by a Honda Civic around 11:20 p.m. while crossing an intersection in the Tarzana neighborhood.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Kurtz succumbed to blunt force injuries sustained during the incident.

Kurtz gained recognition when he auditioned for the eighth season of “America’s Got Talent” in 2006, where he performed a humorous rap about the show’s judges, including Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, and Mel B. Although his act didn’t advance him in the competition, it added to his long list of television credits, including appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” Kurtz was also a regular performer at iconic comedy venues like the Comedy Store and Hollywood Improv.

In connection with Kurtz’s hit-and-run in Los Angeles, police arrested 18-year-old Nathan Jaimes, charging him with a felony count of hit-and-run causing death.
