Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Multiple Vehicles

Placer County, California – On the morning of Tuesday, August 13, a tragic accident occurred on Interstate 80 near Rocklin when a pedestrian attempted to cross the busy freeway and was struck by multiple vehicles.

The California Highway Patrol confirmed that the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway, just east of Highway 65.

Although none of the drivers or passengers were injured in the accident, the consequences for the pedestrian were fatal, as the victim lost his life due to the severe injuries sustained in the incident.

Interstate 80 was temporarily closed after the accident to allow authorities to conduct investigations and secure the scene. However, the freeway was reopened to traffic shortly after the initial inquiries were completed.

This tragic event underscores the importance of highway safety and the need for pedestrians and drivers to exercise extreme caution.

Authorities emphasize that crossing a freeway on foot is extremely dangerous and prohibited, urging pedestrians to use crosswalks and other safe passages.
