San Diego, California – A tragic incident occurred on Thursday, January 25, 2024, on Interstate 5 near Torrey Pines Beach, resulting in the loss of a 39-year-old motorist from Orange County. The fatal event occurred in the early hours of the day and involved a large truck.
The man, a resident of Westminster, was heading south around 4:15 a.m. when the silver Toyota Tundra he was driving violently collided with the truck trailer, just south of Del Mar Heights Road. The impact caused an immediate fire that engulfed both vehicles.
