Los Angeles, CA – LeBron James and his son Bronny James, who recently made history as the first father-son duo to share the NBA court, are now facing legal trouble over an alleged 2022 Littlerock car crash. A lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, accusing the pair of negligent involvement in a collision on November 13, 2022, in the desert town of Littlerock, located in the Antelope Valley.
The plaintiffs, identified as Kiara McGillen and April Lopez, claim they were in a vehicle on Pearblossom Highway, near the intersection of 87th Street, when the incident occurred. McGillen, the driver of the car owned by Lopez, alleges that the defendants “negligently owned, controlled, repaired, entrusted, maintained, and operated an automobile,” leading to the accident. According to the lawsuit, the crash resulted in physical injuries, ongoing pain, and discomfort for the plaintiffs, as well as damage to their vehicle.
While the lawsuit details the personal injuries and damages, it is unclear whether the California Highway Patrol (CHP) was notified of the incident, as the Antelope Valley office has no record of an accident report from that date or location.
The lawsuit names LeBron and Bronny James as defendants, alongside several unnamed parties, referred to as “Does.” McGillen and Lopez seek unspecified damages for their injuries and medical expenses. A court hearing has been scheduled for February 19, 2025.
Now in his 22nd NBA season and the league’s all-time leading scorer, LeBron was joined by his son, Bronny, who the Los Angeles Lakers recently drafted.
This 2022 Littlerock car crash lawsuit highlights the lasting impact that auto accidents can have, both physically and emotionally. Personal injury cases such as this one often require extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation, which can create a financial burden for victims.
