Hit-and-Run In California Claims Lives of Two Young Brothers

ANTIOCH, California — In a heart-wrenching incident, two young brothers lost their lives in a hit-and-run in California that occurred Friday, December 22nd, 2023. Authorities are actively seeking the suspect responsible for the tragedy.

The Antioch Police Department responded to a call reporting a traffic collision at an intersection around 11:30 p.m., as stated in an official release by the department. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a crash involving two vehicles, one of which was transporting two boys aged 12 and 13.

Despite immediate transportation to nearby hospitals via ambulance, the young brothers succumbed to their injuries, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

According to the police statement, the driver of one of the vehicles involved fled the scene on foot. Preliminary investigations suggest that speed and reckless driving played pivotal roles in the collision, as mentioned in the official police statement. 

Eyewitnesses reported a black SUV speeding past the scene, followed by a crash. One witness, as reported by KGO-TV, recounted rushing to the accident site after hearing the collision and discovered the driver of the impacted car, believed to be the father of the two boys. The witness assisted the man in removing one of the boys from the vehicle.

The Antioch Police are urging members of the public with any information related to the incident to come forward and assist in their ongoing investigation. The community is rallying together to support the grieving family and to bring the responsible party to justice.
