(San Bernardino, CA) Two California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers were taken to the hospital on Sunday morning following the Highway 215 accident in San Bernardino.
According to the CHP record, the accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the northbound side of Highway 215, near University Parkway when a pickup truck crashed into the patrol car transporting the two officers.
At the time of the accident, the officers were inspecting a three-vehicle collision at the same location when a negligent driver failed to stop and crashed into the unit. Shortly after, the driver was detained by authorities.
All northbound lanes of Highway 215 were temporarily closed while CHP officers and paramedic firefighters arrived at the scene. The two injured officers were transported to the hospital, and their current condition is unknown.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward immediately.
