Five-Year-Old Child Loses Life in Tragic Highway 4 Accident

Contra Costa County, California – In the early hours of Sunday, December 17, 2023, a devastating traffic accident shook westbound Highway 4 near Morello Avenue. The California Highway Patrol in Contra Costa County reported the tragic loss of a five-year-old in a solo accident around 12:06 a.m.

According to preliminary investigations, a gray Honda CR-V, occupied by an adult driver and two children, was traveling westbound on Highway 4. In an unexpected turn of events, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the Honda to veer off the road and collide violently with a tree.

The vehicle’s driver suffered moderate injuries, while an 11-year-old passenger faced severe and potentially life-threatening injuries. Both were immediately transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Tragically, a five-year-old passenger lost his life in the Highway 4 accident.
