Family Loses Home and Business Due to Drunk Driver

Long Beach, California – A family of three in Long Beach is seeking answers after being forced out of their home and temporarily losing their art gallery business due to a drunk driver.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. last Saturday near 7th Street and Rose Avenue. A drunk driver collided with another vehicle, and both crashed into a business called Open Gallery.

The business is owned by a family who also resides in the adjacent loft. Anthony Artos Saucedo, the co-owner of Open Gallery, was at home with his wife and 13-year-old son when the accident happened. Fortunately, none of them were injured in the crash.

I would say we’re all in shock, and I’m just grateful that my family is here with me,” he said. “Grateful to be alive.”

Saucedo’s wife and co-owner of Open Gallery, Elizabeth Garibaldi, says she is fortunate not to have been working in an area of the building affected by the crash.

We’ve worked very hard to build our dreams,” Garibaldi said. “And it just gets crushed, disappears, because of a really bad decision.”

The family opened the Open Gallery five years ago, providing a space for artists, creatives, and visionaries to gather. Artists can showcase their work in the gallery and refine their art through workshops and collaborative projects.

The impact of the DUI crash in Long Beach serves as a reminder of how poor decisions can lead to devastating consequences, not only for those behind the wheel but also for others.

Always stay alert while driving and avoid driving under the influence of substances at all costs.

We sincerely hope this family can recover their business and rebuild their lives after this tragedy.
