Devastating Gilroy Crash Kills Three, Two Seriously Injured

Gilroy, California —A devastating crash on Tuesday evening in Gilroy claimed the lives of three individuals and left two others seriously injured, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident occurred at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Shore Road, west of Lake Road.

A westbound vehicle reportedly lost control, veering into the eastbound lane and colliding with an oncoming car. CHP confirmed that the driver and two rear passengers in the westbound car died at the scene, including a 17-year-old boy.

Two other victims, the front passenger of the westbound vehicle and the driver of the eastbound car, sustained severe injuries and were airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The identities and ages of the additional victims have not been disclosed.

The crash site was cleared, and Shore Road reopened early Wednesday at 4:48 a.m. Investigators have yet to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. Authorities urge anyone with information about the Gilroy crash to contact CHP at 408-427-0700.
