Accident on the Set of The Pickup, Eddie Murphy Movie

A stunt rehearsal on “The Pickup” left several crew members injured. The Amazon Studios film, currently in production in Georgia, was affected by this incident.

During the rehearsal of a second unit sequence, a truck unexpectedly collided with a car, causing injuries to several crew members. According to reports from the Associated Press, two people had to be hospitalized, suffering from bruises to bone fractures.

Despite the severity of the accident on the set of The Pickup, none of the film’s stars, Eddie Murphy, Keke Palmer, or Pete Davidson, were present at the time, as reported by the AP. Amazon’s production is in the process of gathering more information about the incident.

A spokesperson for the studio confirmed the accident, expressing regret for what happened and ensuring that they are prioritizing the well-being of the crew and cast. It is emphasized that the highest safety standards were maintained during filming and that the causes of the accident are being investigated.

Both Amazon Studios and the IATSE union, representing crew members, are conducting investigations into the incident. Second unit production has been suspended following the accident.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers and risks on a film set; it’s crucial that safety for all involved is prioritized when filming such work.
