60 Freeway Car Crash: Horrific Accident Claims Wrong-Way Driver’s Life

[Ontario, CA] In a devastating incident on the 60 Freeway in Ontario, an unfortunate wrong-way driver was fatally injured early Tuesday morning. The driver, who has not yet been identified, entered the westbound side of the highway at Grove Avenue heading in the opposite direction around 12:05 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver’s vehicle then crashed into another car in the No. 2 lane, driven by an unidentified individual. Witnesses on the scene reported that they narrowly missed being hit by the wrong-way vehicle before it attempted to turn around on the freeway and was then T-boned by a second vehicle.

The wrong-way driver passed away at the scene of the accident while the other driver’s condition is unknown at this time. After the crash, several lanes of the highway were blocked off; however, by 3:45 a.m., according to CHP officials, they had all been cleared and reopened.

No further details about the 60 Freeway car crash have been released at this time. The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the accident and more information will be released when it becomes available.  Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic event.
