Authorities have reported a tragic single-vehicle accident that occurred in the parking lot of an elementary school in Murrieta, resulting in the loss of three lives and leaving one individual critically injured.
On Saturday night, around 11:09 p.m., the Murrieta Police Department received multiple emergency calls reporting an accident at Alta Murrieta Elementary School, located at 39475 Whitewood Road.
Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. According to a press release issued by the Murrieta Police Department, they discovered a male occupant outside the vehicle with severe injuries, who was immediately rushed to a local hospital. No updates on their condition have been provided at this time.
Murrieta Fire Department personnel worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire engulfing the wrecked vehicle. Subsequently, three victims were found inside the car, including the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Images of the accident site showed the charred remains beneath the school’s parking lot. Part of the car’s rear end appeared to be hanging as firefighters battled the lingering flames beneath the four-door white Tesla.
Authorities have not provided information regarding the possible causes of the tragic accident at the elementary school in Murrieta, nor have they mentioned whether alcohol or drugs could have been contributing factors.
