19 People Hospitalized After Bus Accident on Highway 330

Los Angeles, California — Late Sunday evening, a vehicle transporting a church group was involved in a tragic bus accident on Highway 330, resulting in 19 injuries, predominantly juveniles, after overturning. The crash caused major delays and raised concerns about passenger safety and mechanical integrity on steep California roads.

Bus Overturns on Highway 330, Injuring 19 Passengers

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Highway 330 near Running Springs. The bus, reportedly carrying 36 adults and teenagers traveling to Santa Ana, lost control before overturning.

Witnesses described seeing the bus catch fire moments before it flipped, striking a wall as the driver tried to regain control. Emergency crews responded quickly, transporting 19 passengers to nearby hospitals — three with serious injuries and the rest with minor ones.

Thankfully, all occupants managed to exit the vehicle safely, some through the roof hatch. Authorities continue to investigate the cause, with no signs of DUI involvement.

Determining Responsibility in the Bus Accident

When a bus accident occurs on Highway 330, identifying who is legally responsible becomes critical. Under California personal injury law (California Civil Code §1714), multiple parties may share liability — including the driver, the bus company, maintenance contractors, or even parts manufacturers.

Each has a legal duty to ensure passenger safety through proper training, maintenance, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Victims may have grounds to file a personal injury claim to recover damages such as:

  • Emergency and long-term medical costs
  • Rehabilitation and therapy expenses
  • Lost income or diminished earning capacity
  • Emotional distress and trauma

An experienced California personal injury lawyer can guide victims through the claims process, ensuring that evidence is properly preserved and all potential avenues for compensation are thoroughly explored.
