(Stockton, CA) Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 60-year-old woman driver and left a man, whose identity has not been released, seriously injured.
The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at Bianchi Road and Townehome Drive when, for reasons unknown, the woman driver collided with the victim, causing a chain reaction involving other vehicles at the scene.
Authorities responded to the scene immediately, but the driver was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a man believed to be in his 60s, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is in critical condition.
So far, investigations have ruled out the influence of alcohol or drugs as a factor in the accident.
No other injuries to occupants of the vehicles have been reported.
