Woman and Child Die in Head-On Collision in Van Nuys

In a tragic incident on Thursday night in Van Nuys, a woman, and a 5-year-old child lost their lives in a head-on collision.

According to a report from the Los Angeles Fire Department, the accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on the 6400 block of Woodley Avenue, near Victory Boulevard.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of a white Honda Accord crossed into the southbound lanes and collided with a gray Honda Civic. The aftermath of the accident showed severe damage to both vehicles.

A 60-year-old woman traveling in the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene, while the accompanying 5-year-old child died at the hospital.

Authorities reported that four additional victims, aged between 21 and 30 years, were hospitalized in at least serious condition.
