Vigil in Memory of Mother and 3 Daughters Killed in Accident

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – A heartfelt candlelight vigil was held on Wednesday, July 24th, in honor of Karly Pérez, 42, and her daughters Olivia, 12, Emalynn, 11, and Giana, 8, who tragically lost their lives in an accident on July 12th.

The vigil in memory of the mother and three daughters killed in the accident took place at 7 p.m. in Centennial Park in Menifee, a unique location as it was where the girls played softball.

The three Pérez girls, who were naturally shy, found joy on the softball field, surrounded by family and friends. They will be deeply missed by all who know them.

The accident occurred while they were returning home to Southern California from Texas and unfortunately claimed more than four lives.

Karly Pérez and Heather Ventura were inseparable friends. Their decade-long friendship was built on mutual support, especially in raising their children. Ventura, 37, and her 13-year-old son, Lucas Tejada, were also victims of the tragic accident.

The fatal accident happened on the afternoon of July 12th on Interstate 10 near Quartzsite, Arizona. A Ford F-550 truck failed to slow down and rear-ended the Chevrolet Traverse in which the victims were traveling.

The impact caused the Traverse to collide with other vehicles and catch fire. The occupants of the Chevrolet, including Pérez and her daughters, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford truck was unharmed and was not cited at the time of the accident. However, authorities are consulting with the La Paz County Attorney’s Office about possible charges.

This tragic event has left a deep mark on the community. Centennial Park’s vigil is a tribute to the lives lost and a reminder of the importance of community and mutual support in times of grief.

The memories of Karly, her daughters, Heather, and Lucas will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them. Our thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones.
