Two Killed in Metrolink Train Accident in City of Industry

City of Industry, California — A devastating Metrolink train accident in the City of Industry on Thursday morning claimed the lives of two individuals when a train collided with a vehicle on the tracks, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. near the intersection of Rose Hills Road and Capitol Avenue. Metrolink Train 407, traveling between the Industry and Montebello/Commerce stations, struck a white Toyota Camry, killing both occupants inside the car.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported that two additional people sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a hospital. Their connection to the incident remains unclear, and the victims’ identities have not yet been disclosed.

According to Metrolink, five train passengers suffered minor injuries, and two trains were canceled following the collision. The agency provided alternative transportation options for affected customers and assured them that normal service would resume later that day.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the vehicle being on the tracks. This incident follows a similar tragedy last October when a pedestrian was fatally struck on Metrolink tracks between Lancaster and Palmdale in an area without a crossing.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the victims’ families, and we hope for a swift and full recovery for those injured in this tragic incident.  If you or someone you know has been impacted by an accident in Los Angeles County, contact us today to explore your legal options.
