(Fresno, CA) A woman died after colliding with a trailer that allegedly ran a red light in North Fresno. Early Wednesday morning, police responded to the crash near Friant Road and Shepherd Avenue.
A video posted by FOX NEWS shows the moment the truck ran the red light and collided with the woman’s vehicle, pushing it over the median and into oncoming traffic. The woman was trapped in the vehicle.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers and paramedics were able to free the woman, but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as 22-year-old Fresno resident Amaya Chenot.
A local business owner commented that the intersection is known as a recurring point of accidents, “almost weekly, people ignore the red light,” he said. Therefore, his son installed a camera pointing at the intersection to capture what happened, which was crucial evidence in this case.
