Madera County, CA – A serious Madera car crash on Tuesday afternoon sent three people to the hospital with significant injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue 25 and Road 9.
CHP investigators determined that a 33-year-old man from Sunnyvale was driving a white 2018 Mazda CX5 northbound on Road 9 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Avenue 25. This led to a collision with a white 2017 Ford F-550 driven by a 29-year-old Merced man traveling eastbound on Avenue 25.
Unable to avoid the crash, the Ford struck the left side of the Mazda, which then hit a wood fence and a power pole.
As a result, the driver and two passengers in the Mazda sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries but was not transported for treatment.
CHP officials stated that alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the individuals involved in this auto accident, and we wish those injured a swift recovery. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of cautious driving and obeying traffic signals to prevent such tragedies on the road.
