Police Arrest Man In Trinity Car Crash For DUI, Vandalism

A man was arrested in Trinity County after being found to have been driving under the influence and committing vandalism.

The incident reportedly began when CHP officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 299 at Trinity Dam Boulevard. After searching for the driver, they were alerted by deputies with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office about suspicious activity occurring near Highway 299 at Buckhorn Summit.

When they arrived, the suspect took off running and officers were able to detain him after a short pursuit. It was discovered that the man had allegedly been driving under the influence and crashed his vehicle into a metal entry gate, before stealing another vehicle. The man was arrested and booked into jail on multiple charges related to the Trinity car crash.

The CHP expressed appreciation for the help of the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office in the apprehension of this suspect and thanked the deep snow for aiding in his capture. It is unclear what consequences the man will face for his actions.

This case serves as a reminder for individuals to never drive under influence, as the consequences can be severe. Always make sure to have a designated driver or use public transportation if you are going out and consuming alcohol or drugs.
