(Oxnard, CA) A single-vehicle fatal crash on the northbound Ventura Highway in Oxnard claimed the life of a 46-year-old SUV driver. Authorities are investigating the incident.
The Oxnard Police Department received a report of the accident on Sunday, around 11:15 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found a woman who was traveling alone in her 2002 Ford SUV, which apparently lost control and hit the center median. The impact caused the pickup to overturn and then hit a light pole before ending up facing north on Ventura Highway.
Due to the impact and fatal events of the accident, the woman was ejected from the pickup. Medical personnel attempted to save her life, but their efforts were in vain. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fatal crash in Oxnard is unknown, and fatigue is initially believed to have been a factor. However, the investigation is ongoing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends.
