Multiple Crash on Highway 101

Traffic backed up Tuesday afternoon near Fairview Avenue on southbound Highway 101 as a result of an accident involving multiple vehicles and a motorcyclist. 

A California Highway Patrol report recorded the accident around 5:17 p.m., noting two vehicles on the freeway divider with significant damage and a motorcyclist on the ground in the same lane. 

The CHP reported one serious injury from the crash, although it was not specified if the motorcyclist had sustained the injuries.

Two tow trucks responded to the report to expedite the situation, however, traffic was congested at the scene for over an hour, causing delays and inconvenience to commuters.

At this time, the cause of this multiple crash on Highway 101 is unknown and the condition of the injured person involved has not been disclosed. If you have information about this incident that occurred in Santa Barbara, do not hesitate to report it to the authorities.
