Stanislaus County, California – On the night of Sunday, December 17, 2023, a tragic incident shook Hughson as a man lost his life in a head-on collision, according to a statement from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.
The fatality occurred in the 6200 block of East Hatch Road, near Santa Fe Avenue. Emergency teams responded quickly to the call around 5:24 p.m. Upon arrival, rescuers found two vehicles involved in the impact: a white Chevrolet 2500 and a black Dodge Ram 1500.
Unfortunately, the driver of the Dodge Ram, a man whose identity has not yet been revealed, was declared deceased at the scene.
After interviewing eyewitnesses, investigators determined that the Dodge was traveling east on Hatch Road, attempting to overtake other vehicles. The tragic outcome occurred when it collided head-on with the Chevrolet, driven by a woman, heading west.
The woman managed to exit her truck with the assistance of her husband, who was traveling in another vehicle. Although she suffered minor injuries, she was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. At this time, it is unknown if substances such as drugs or alcohol played any role in the head-on collision in Hughson.
