Carson Shooting: One Dead, Another Injured in Mall Parking Lot

On Monday, tragedy struck the SouthBay Pavilion Mall parking lot in Carson when a shooting occurred at 12:05 AM. Unfortunately, one victim was killed and another injured as a result of this incident in the 20700 block of Avalon Boulevard.

When Lt. Daniel Vizcarra and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were alerted to a potential shooting, they discovered a vehicle that had collided with a pole containing two men with gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene.

Tragically, one of the victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Fortunately, however, another victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is now in stable condition.

The shooting is believed to have taken place across from a Denny’s restaurant according to the authorities. Video footage of the parking lot reveals several evidence markers, indicating that the victims may have been fired upon there and then drove off resulting in an accident at the mall.

The underlying cause behind the shooting remains to be discovered, and no details about potential suspects have been released.
