Los Angeles, California – In the early hours of Wednesday morning, tragedy struck on the 110 Freeway in the South Los Angeles area of Vermont-Vista as a pedestrian was struck and killed.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that officers received a distress call at 3:34 a.m., prompting them to rush to the southbound freeway and the Manchester Avenue on-ramp. Upon arrival, they discovered a body lying in one of the freeway’s lanes.
Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, marking yet another devastating loss on Los Angeles roadways.
In response to the incident, the CHP swiftly issued a SigAlert, resulting in the closure of four lanes of the southbound freeway. This closure allowed investigators to thoroughly examine the scene and gather evidence of the accident.
