60-Year-Old Man Killed in Tracy Motorcycle Crash

Tracy, CA – A tragic Tracy motorcycle crash on I-580 claimed the life of a 60-year-old motorcyclist Wednesday night, and authorities are actively searching for two vehicles that fled the scene. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident occurred around 7:42 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-580 near Grant Line Road.

According to CHP, initial reports indicate that a gold SUV, possibly an older Lexus model, was weaving erratically through traffic just before the accident. The SUV then swerved across lanes, sideswiping the motorcyclist riding between two lanes. The impact caused the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle, landing under a passing truck in an adjacent lane, which led to fatal injuries.

Witnesses report that both the gold SUV and the truck—described as hauling a white shipping container with red lettering on a flatbed—briefly stopped on the shoulder before leaving the scene.

CHP urges anyone with information on the two vehicles or the accident to contact their Dublin office at 925-828-0466.

Our hearts go out to the victim’s family and loved ones affected by this tragic Tracy motorcycle crash. We hope the community can support authorities in bringing those responsible to justice.
