Virginia Bicycle Accident Attorney Passing Distance Bill Fails

Bikers are going to need to continue to be extra careful when driving alongside cars on roads. A bill had been issued to the Virginia House to require a wider passing distance between cars and bicycles. The required distance would increase from 2 feet to 3 feet.

Virginia bicyclists believe the wider passing distance would provide extra protection for the increasing number of bike riders using the road for recreation and job commuting.
As always, there are oppositions that this increase would be an imposition on motorists, especially on narrow country roads.
If you are involved in an accident while on a bicycle, a few things can help your case. After an accident don’t repair or dispose of your bicycle before talking to a Virginia Bicycle Accident Attorney, as this is valuable evidence. Also, take photos of your bike and any injuries you may have sustained.
