Small Plane Crash Near Fullerton Airport Kills 2, Injures 19

Fullerton, California — A tragic plane crash near Fullerton Airport on Thursday claimed the lives of two individuals and left 19 others injured after a small aircraft crashed into a building’s roof, igniting a fire.

Authorities confirmed the victims were the pilot and his 16-year-old daughter. The crash occurred at a furniture warehouse near the Fullerton Municipal Airport shortly after 2 p.m., sending plumes of dense smoke visible across Southern California. Emergency responders swiftly evacuated the building’s occupants and extinguished the four-alarm blaze.

Witness Jerome Cruz, a warehouse employee, described the chaos, saying he and others were terrified and that he had long been concerned about the possibility of such an incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration identified the plane as a single-engine Van’s RV-10, built in 2011. Eliot Simpson from the National Transportation Safety Board stated the aircraft experienced issues shortly after takeoff, prompting the pilot to attempt an emergency return.

Unfortunately, the plane crashed roughly 1,000 feet from Runway 24, causing extensive damage and injuries. Of the 19 injured, 11 were hospitalized with varying degrees of severity.
