On Wednesday afternoon, shortly before 5:30 p.m., a tragic accident occurred in South Lake Tahoe, resulting in the death of one person and multiple injuries, according to authorities.
The accident took place on Pioneer Trail when two vehicles traveling in opposite directions collided head-on. One of the vehicles involved was a Subaru Impreza, traveling at a speed of 55 miles per hour, while the other vehicle was a Tesla Model 3, traveling at 45 miles per hour.
As a result of the impact, the occupants of the Tesla suffered injuries ranging from moderate to severe. They were quickly transported to the UC Davis Medical Center for specialized medical care.
Unfortunately, the driver of the Tesla was seriously injured in the accident and was urgently taken to Barton Memorial Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. The driver of the Subaru was also transported to Barton Memorial Hospital, but due to the severity of their injuries, they passed away shortly after admission.
At this time, authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact causes that led to this fatal accident in South Lake Tahoe.
