CALIFORNIA – A tragic incident has shaken Highway 74 near Vista Point. A man from San Diego has lost his life, while two others have been hospitalized after a collision between two vehicles.
The accident occurred around 12:35 p.m. near mile marker 88. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), 75-year-old Kenneth Macho lost his life after colliding with a tow truck in the opposite lane.
David Torres, a CHP spokesperson, reported that the victim and an elderly woman were traveling in a white Subaru Crosstrek downhill. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle crossed solid double lines and crashed into a tow truck.
The woman accompanying the victim suffered moderate injuries, while the tow truck driver sustained minor injuries. Both were transported to the Desert Regional Medical Center for medical treatment.
This tragic accident on Highway 74 serves as a reminder of the importance of caution while driving and respect for traffic rules.
