Lancaster Big Rig Crash Sends Two to Hospital After Wreck

Los Angeles County, California — A Lancaster big rig crash on State Route 14 sent two people to the hospital late Saturday night and resulted in one arrest. Authorities have not yet identified the cause of the collision or released the conditions of the injured victims.

Big Rig and Two Cars Collide on SR-14 Near Avenue H

The collision occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday on State Route 14 near Avenue H in Lancaster, according to the California Highway Patrol. Three vehicles were involved: a big rig and two passenger vehicles.

Video from the scene showed a damaged sedan near the front of the semi and a significantly damaged SUV behind it. Emergency crews were also seen carrying an injured person on a stretcher from an area off the freeway.

Two people were transported to hospitals, but their conditions were not immediately available. CHP confirmed that one person was arrested but did not disclose that individual’s identity, vehicle, or alleged offense. The cause of the Lancaster big rig crash remains under investigation.

How Liability May Be Evaluated After a California Truck Crash

An arrest after a collision does not, by itself, determine who is financially responsible for injuries. A personal injury claim generally requires evidence showing how negligence contributed to the crash and resulting losses.

Depending on the investigation, relevant evidence may include:

  • CHP reports, witness accounts, and roadway or vehicle footage
  • Driver conduct, including speed, distraction, impairment, or unsafe maneuvers
  • Commercial driver records and trucking-company policies
  • Vehicle maintenance, inspection, and electronic logging information

Under California Civil Code § 1714(a), people are generally responsible for injuries resulting from a lack of ordinary care in managing their property or actions. In a truck accident claim, this negligence standard may support compensation for medical expenses, lost income, property damage, and pain and suffering.

A serious big rig crash can leave injured people and families facing medical bills, time off work, vehicle damage, and uncertainty about next steps. When commercial trucks are involved, responsibility may require examining evidence from drivers, owners, employers, or other parties.
