Fresno police responded at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, to Maple and Gettysburg avenues, west of Highway 168. Investigators said a white pickup truck struck the rear of a black sedan near the intersection. The impact also involved two parked vehicles, leaving debris across the roadway.
The sedan’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A dog inside the vehicle also died. Emergency personnel transported the pickup driver to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. Authorities had not publicly identified the people involved as of the initial reports.
