Los Angeles, California – A driver was rushed to the hospital following a violent collision in Woodland Hills on Sunday, January 28, 2024, night. According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Mulholland Drive, near Mulholland Highway.
Initial reports indicate that the driver lost control of the vehicle, veering off the road and crashing into a tree. Firefighters acted swiftly to extinguish the flames that broke out in the grass along the roadside after the impact.
The driver, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was taken to the hospital and is in moderate condition.

The driver, whose identity remains anonymous, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of the highway, near El Cajon Valley High School. They were driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado when, veering to the right, they violently collided with a concrete barrier. The clock showed just after 7:30 p.m. when this fateful event occurred, according to reports from the California Highway Patrol.
The truck, after the initial impact, crossed the center divider of the highway, colliding again with another barrier on the west side of Second Street. Jared Grieshaber, public affairs officer for the CHP, reported that due to this second collision, fragments of broken concrete were propelled, striking several vehicles traveling on the city street. Among those affected was a 17-month-old child, who sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the truck continued its trajectory until crashing into a curb on the east side of Second Street, where it finally came to a stop against a wall and caught fire. Despite the desperate efforts of some bystanders to rescue the driver, of whom only their gender is known to be male, he tragically passed away inside the burning vehicle.
Emergency services responded promptly and transported the injured child to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Although the child suffered serious injuries, it is estimated that their injuries are not life-threatening.
