Motorcyclist dies in accident on CA-190 in Death Valley National Park

(Death Valley, CA) A man identified as a 73-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada resident died in a tragic motorcycle accident in the Death Valley National Park.

Investigations into the accident indicate that the man was traveling on the curvy section of Highway 190 between Panamint Springs Resort and Father Crowley Point at around 10:50 a.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle, veered into the oncoming lane and collided with the front of a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

According to a press release from the Death Valley National Park, the California Highway Patrol, National Park Services, and the Inyo County Coroner’s Office responded to the incident immediately, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
