Tulare County, California – The California Highway Patrol received a report of a crash on Highway 99, just north of Avenue 200 in Tulare at 4:30 am on Tuesday, January 6, 2024.
The driver of a truck, traveling in the fast lane, lost control as it veered sharply to the left, resulting in the vehicle overturning.
Unfortunately, the driver, a man in his twenties from Fresno County, lost his life in the accident.
While the reasons behind the sudden veering have not yet been determined, the incident occurred amid adverse weather conditions, with rain at the time of the accident, which may have contributed to slippery roads. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation.
Once weather conditions improve, Tulare County authorities will begin repair and cleanup work on the affected roads. Both the California Highway Patrol and county officials urge drivers to reduce speed and exercise utmost caution when traveling on the roads.
