Collision of Semi-Trucks and an SUV on Highway 101

On Thursday morning, the westbound lanes of Highway 101 remain closed in Agoura Hills hours after a pair of crashes involving two semi-trucks, at least one of which jackknifed, resulting in the loss of its cargo and the cab overturning.

The highway closure began shortly after 1:10 a.m. when two large trucks and a third vehicle collided on the highway west of Chesebro Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.

Two semi-trucks and a third vehicle were involved in the crashes, causing a chaotic situation on the highway. The front-end damage to the trucks was significant, while the dark-colored SUV ended up overturned in the vegetation along the roadside.

Authorities have not provided information about the condition of those involved in the crash. At least one person was seen being transported by an ambulance, but their current condition is unknown. Authorities are expected to provide an update on the injured individuals in the coming hours.

The California Highway Patrol has stated that the traffic incident alert (SigAlert) will remain in effect “until further notice” due to the magnitude of the crash and the damages caused. The closure of the westbound highway has caused congestion in the area, and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes while authorities work to clear the road.

The collision of semi-trucks and an SUV on Highway 101 has created a complicated situation in Agoura Hills. Authorities are working diligently to restore normalcy on the road and determine the responsibilities of those involved.
