(Orange County, California) A child died due to a terrible pedestrian accident in Orange County. The tragedy occurred around 4:15 p.m. near Antonio Parkway and Oak Tree Lane in the Las Flores area.
According to the California Highway Patrol report, a 54-year-old driver from San Clemente was driving his 2017 Hyundai Sonata when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the road to hit the family walking nearby.
The family of three, a 34-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman, and their 11-month-old baby, all residents of Rancho Santa Margarita, were walking near the road in the afternoon when the vehicle hit them unexpectedly.
Both parents suffered severe injuries and, despite the efforts of paramedics, doctors, and nurses at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, the child succumbed to their terrible injuries and was pronounced dead minutes after arriving at the hospital.
